About Me

Laurie White, MSW has been a dementia specialist for over 25 years. Through her career, Laurie has been a clinician, educator, trainer, and an author. Laurie has worked extensively with people with dementia and their family members.
As a family consultant, Laurie works with families at various stages of caregiving, from those who have just received a diagnosis to those who are well into the caregiving journey. Families rely on Laurie to help them with common challenges, understand and cope with the changes throughout the disease, and assists them with making the right decisions, choices and transitions for the caregiver and the person with memory loss.
As a dementia care trainer, Laurie presents practical, ready-to-use, information that is based on her extensive dementia experience with family caregivers, people with memory loss, and the staff who care for them. Whether Laurie is presenting at a conference or conducting a staff training, Laurie delivers her message with compassion and enthusiasm. She gives attendees tools they need to manage the day-to-day care of someone with memory loss.

Laurie received her Masters of Social Work and Specialist in Aging certificate from the University of Michigan. She lives in Santa Rosa, California.
Laurie is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, NASW (National Association of Social Workers). She is President of the Sonoma County Section on Aging. Her other volunteer work includes facilitating a support group for the Lewy Body Dementia Association, serving on the Board of Directors of icarevillage.com, and the Sonoma County Forum.
